thomas buckley will read from and sign his new handmade book of poems and photographs, women and other dreams, about women known and imagined. the poet/photographer researched bookbinding methods and created each volume himself, with covers of handmade paper and coptic-stitched spines. the first 30 (of the limited edition of 50) will be available at loka, signed and numbered. guest poets may also pop in to read buckley’s work.

color them eclectic: drawing from a variety of world-music traditions, this “informance”–part talk, part performance–features internationally renowned bouzouki player roger landes (founder of zoukfest), new music composer and bluegrass banjoist extraordinaire paul elwood, and master percussionist phil hollenbeck, the senior american artist of the north indian pakhawaj. suggested donation: $10.
